ASDP Gilimanuk Operated 4 Spare-boat
ASDP Gilimanuk operated four spare-boat for Ketapang-Gilimanuk crossing activity since the annual influx from Bali to Java become more crowded on Tuesday night.
The Operational Manager of ASDP Gilimanuk, Ospar Silaban when contacted by ANTARA explained that on ordinary days, they merely operated 23 unit of ships but this time it become 27 ferries.
“Tonight, none of that ship are off. We mobilize all for the smoothness of the annual influx that slowly becoming more crowded compared to days before,” he said.
The additional conducted through phases, from one spare-boat up to the four of them. Those ships usually are not operated now they are mobilized.
“We predicted that the annual influx on Wednesday (September 8th) will increase up to Thursday (September 9th) or H-1 Lebaran,” Silaban said.
He confessed that most of those crossing the strait from Gilimanuk port of Jembrana Regency, Bali to Ketapang, Banyuwangi, East Java still dominated by two wheels vehicles.
Meanwhile, for four wheels vehicles have to get in line at around 05.00 p.m. although the queue is still in the port area. It does not take them too long at the queue since they could straightly went to the ship.
“Gladly all run smooth, even though the annual influx has not reached its peak yet. We hope that on H-1 Lebaran everything would run smooth so those passengers would arrive at home conveniently,” he said.
Annual influx from Gilimanuk to Ketapang seems quieter on Tuesday in the morning up to the evening. As far as no single vehicle, need to waste their time waiting for their turn to entering the ship.
On night, passengers who goes to their homeland in Java also still dominated by two wheels vehicles. They usually are carrying bag and box.
To relieve their exhaustion, those motor riders sheltered in some places while in Bali. the same when they had crossing the strait, most of them sheltered at Baluran Forest Situbondo when traveling from Banyuwangi toward Situbondo.
