16,500 Ampupu Trees for Batur Mountain
People who lived around Batur Mountain, Kintamani, Bangli Regency joint Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika, private businessmen and Conservation Hall of Natural Source (BKSDA) Bali to plant 16,500 Ampupu trees (Eucalypus Sp), bamboo and any kinds of other plantations. This reforestation program is being part of people concern towards critical land around Batur Mountain caldera.
They agreed it is important to conserve hydrology function of Bangli Regency and its surroundings. “In the other side the existence of Batur Mountain and Kintamani area should preserve as they have contributed much for tourism sector,” said Pastika. He added people need to realize if this area is including to rocky and sandy area so it is not growing certain trees.
“Making arable hole and spreading organic fertilizer, the top soil is adequately receiving new plants. Further I hoped this reforestation program will grow ampupu and bamboo seeds. The thousand seeds are able to grow in this kind of land,” said him. Batur Mountain is the sign of prosperity in Bali. This mountain is being one of holy site due to it trusted as the dwelling place of the Gods. It is also attended by Bangli Regent I Made Gianyar, Vice Regent Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta, Region Secretary Bali I Made Jendra and his people, also Jero Mangku Pura Bukit Mentik.
