			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Prof. Dr. Wayan Windia viewed that the development of ecotourism in Bali will give double benefits in increasing people prosperity as well as preserving environment.</p>
<p>“Ecotourism development at subak object (traditional agriculture irrigation organization) provides varied of attractions based on natural resource as the product or market opportunities,” head of Udayana’s Subak System Research in Denpasar.<span id="more-2245"></span></p>
<p>The development of ecotourism in subak territory is in order to push environment preservation efforts stand also as the utilization and management method of environment friendly tourism resources.</p>
<p>The attempt hopes will be able to give economic value in the ecosystem activities in the environment created as the tourism object. It also will increase environment preservation and sustainable natural utilization.</p>
<p>“This kind of tourism could also reduce threat toward biodiversity in each tourism object,” he added.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tourists from China who enjoys beautiful view as well as unique culture of Balinese was 103,924 people for the period of January-March 2012 or increase 82.42 percent compare to the same period last year that was 56,971 Chinese.<span id="more-2238"></span></p>
<p>“Significant improvement has made China to sit on the second position the biggest countries supplying tourists into this area,” said head of Bali Provincial Central Statistic Bureau, Gede Suarsa in Denpasar.</p>
<p>He said that most Chinese came through Ngurah Rai Airport Bali with direct flight from their country. Only 54 of them recorded went through seaport with cruise.</p>
<p>In 2011 tourists from China visited Bali was 236,867 people, increase 20.28 percent compare to the previous year that was only 196,926 people.</p>
<p>Gede Suarsa added that Chinese visiting Bali increase significantly due to the country’s progressing economic condition as well as direct flight from China-Bali provided.</p>
<p>Bali-China actually has emotional relationship. It has been develop since XII century and the remaining relationship stand as the “silent witness” inherited until today through art, religious places up to the architecture style with Chinese characteristic.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In series of her working visit to Bali on April 27-29, Minister of Tourism and Economic Creative, Mari Elka Pangestu spared her time to visit Bali Safari &amp; Marine Park in Gianyar. Her arrival was wecome by Deputy General Manager Ana Dewi Permana and Senior Account Manager MICE Ratna Soebrata.<span id="more-2236"></span></p>
<p>Minister Mari Pangestu with group arrived at Bali Safari &amp; Marine Park around 11.30 am. The tour begin with Safari Journey took the group to get around varied of animals coming from Indonesia, India and Africa. They then have lunch at Tsavo Lion Restaurant accompanied with Arican lion separated by glass wall.</p>
<p>The main event for Mari visit at Bali Safari &amp; Marine Park was to watch Bali Agung performance at Bali Theatre. It is about the legendary romance story between King Sri Jaya Pangus, Princess Kang Cing Wei and the Goddess ruler of the Lake, Goddess Danu. Artistic Designer for Bali Agung performance, I Made Sidia was accompanying Mari Pangestu during the on-going show while telling the Minister the course of Bali Agung.</p>
<p>“I was move and proud with this spectacular show. Finally, I was able to watch it. What I saw that this performance was as exciting as that in Vegas, it was incredible! It was picturing our wealth and creativity, of how we takes outsider culture and then integrates it with our own. We can saw that our culture not merely about traditional dance but it can also pack in one contemporary styles,” Mari Pangestu said.</p>
<p>In the end of her speech, she hopes cultural conservation done by Bali Safari &amp; Marine Park will keep develop. This show was close with photograph.</p>

In 2011 it has visited by thousand foreigners. “This amount is relatively small rather than other museum in Ubud village as it is being one of interesting tourism destination,” said the founder of museum coordinator Drs I Nyoman Gunarsa on Monday.<span id="more-2230"></span></p>
<p>He said the foreigner visit expected to increase by increasing cultural art activities in this museum complex. “Though the distance of Denpasar and Badung Regency is far enough but tourists from the eastern area in Bali had visited this museum,” said Gunarsa, the former of Indonesia Art Institute lecturer (ISI) Jogjakarta. Gunarsa added this museum is most visited museum in eastern area of Bali.</p>

This parade will be followed by five ogoh-ogoh from each subdistricts in Denpasar. There are four sub districts in this city that means there will be 20 ogoh-ogoh to parade in front of Denpasar Mayor Office on upcoming Thursday (22/3).<span id="more-2197"></span></p>
<p>A grand jury team started to assess 150 ogoh-ogoh in Denpasar. The headman of Cultural Department Denpasar Made Mudra accompanied by the chairman of Public Relation Division Denpasar Dewa Gede Rai yesterday said the ogoh-ogoh assessment had done since 12 March until today (15/3). According to him, there are 150 ogoh-ogoh that registered to follow this competition from the total of 360 Youth Groups in Denpasar. “The total of 150 ogoh-ogoh then assessed to result 5 best ogoh-ogoh from each sub district. These best ogoh-ogoh will be parade in Catur Muka later,” said him.</p>
<p>The total of 150 ogoh-ogoh are coming from West Denpasar as much as 36 ogoh-ogoh, 44 ogoh-ogoh are coming from North Denpasar, 48 ogoh-ogoh from East Denpasar and South Denpasar contributes 22 ogoh-ogoh. Those ogoh-ogoh accessed by jury team that represented academician, custom figures, cultural figures and religion figures. The assessment criterion covers the suitability of ogoh-ogoh with the theme, creativity and its suitability with theme and expression. The five biggest ogoh-ogoh per sub district will get training fund as much as Rp7,9 million. Previously government also giving STT creativity fund as much as Rp3,5 million per STT.</p>

<p>Catching pig race held in Niti Praja Field, Lumintang, Denpasar on Sunday morning as it was attracting local people attention. This event coupled jogging competition to celebrate 20th anniversary of Denpasar city. <p>Any kinds of fun competitions held in Lumintang field but the catching pig race was mostly attracting people. This competition was allowing its participants to race their speed and agility. Committee used half competition system to find the champion.</p>
<p>Each participant fought one by one to catch a pig in a 70 square meters area. Since Saturday night (4/2) Denpasar city got rain that made Lumintang field wet. The wet field made the competition getting attractive due to the participant and the pig were full of mud. The competition was also including three committees as the bugger so the pig was getting more difficult to catch.</p>

<p>Instant penjor is being most sought item for welcoming Galungan Day. It appears on the lavish order of instant penjor. In a day instant penjor customer can reach 100 persons. They are usually choosing this instant penjor due to it priced reasonably.<span id="more-2158"></span></p>
<p>Penjor instant priced Rp100,000 per piece. This price has including sanggah cucuk so buyers only needed to prepare the offerings. “Buyers are conveniently releasing any difficulties to make penjor,” said Kompyang, a penjor seller in Kaswari Street, Jambe Village, Tabanan on Sunday (29/1). This man confessed he had flooded by instant penjor order since Saturday (18/1). His customer is usually asking instant penjor.</p>
<p>However making penjor is not difficult. Kompyang added some workers to finish this seasonal order. Attracting buyer’s interest, Kompyang chose to sell his penjor in the edge of the road. The peak of penjor order is today (30/1) due to on Tuesday (31/1) noon all of penjor obliged to set up in front of people houses.</p>
<p>Besides instant penjor, Kompyang and his brother, Dobler were also providing penjor materials such as bamboo, sampian, sanggah cucuk and flag. The bamboo priced in range Rp15,000 – Rp25,000 per piece depending on its size. Sanggah cucuk priced Rp6,000 per piece and sampian priced in range Rp6,000 – Rp15,000 per piece. The bamboo stick mostly coming from Pupuan, said Kompyang. But this year he is getting much young bamboo stick. Decreasing bamboo seed is causing by piodalan season along this year.</p>

<p>They agreed it is important to conserve hydrology function of Bangli Regency and its surroundings. “In the other side the existence of Batur Mountain and Kintamani area should preserve as they have contributed much for tourism sector,” said Pastika. He added people need to realize if this area is including to rocky and sandy area so it is not growing certain trees.</p>
<p>“Making arable hole and spreading organic fertilizer, the top soil is adequately receiving new plants. Further I hoped this reforestation program will grow ampupu and bamboo seeds. The thousand seeds are able to grow in this kind of land,” said him. Batur Mountain is the sign of prosperity in Bali. This mountain is being one of holy site due to it trusted as the dwelling place of the Gods. It is also attended by Bangli Regent I Made Gianyar, Vice Regent Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta, Region Secretary Bali I Made Jendra and his people, also Jero Mangku Pura Bukit Mentik.</p>

<p>Ketut Rukun, a tour guide in Plaga, Badung on Sunday said his side often invited foreigners from Japan and Australia to visit this bridge destination. According to him this bridge is interesting enough to visit by tourists due to its height recognized as the highest bridge in Southeast Asia. It also has exotic natural view. “Tourists look interested to this bridge. It is added by natural view around the bridge and its cool air,” said him.</p>
<p>Around the bridge the environment is still beautiful due to it supported by agricultural sector such as coffee plantation, vegetables and other agricultural commodity. This bridge is giving certain convenience to the people and tourists to open some areas in North Badung and Bangli Regency. This bridge is using balanced cantilever technology as it is estimated aging 100 years. It launched officially by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on 19 December 2006.</p>

Denpasar Festival in 2010 was only earning Rp2,5 billion,” said the Head of Public Relation and Protocol Division Denpasar Dewa Gede Rai in Denpasar at Tuesday. He said the biggest earnings of this event comes from culinary stall as much as Rp2 billion. The rest of the income coming from textile and handicraft stalls as they were recording Rp1,1 billion income.<span id="more-2129"></span></p>
<p>“In this culinary stall, there are betutu dish. This special cuisine of Bali is being special attraction amongst people. Each betutu trader can get the range of Rp10 million until Rp15 million rupiah per day,” said him. Further he also said, “Denpasar Festival is not only chasing huge earning but also lifting the local potential and giving a space to any kinds of business sections in Denpasar.”</p>
