China International Travel Mart

Business players in tourism industry from all around the world has been concentrated in China for four days between 20th and 23rd of November 2008. Leading countries like USA, France, UK, Australia as well as African countries have also taken their part in the annual event of China International Travel Mart (CTIM). They brought in their full power to promote their tourism attractions at Shanghai International Expo Center when the event took place. ICA Bali to Promote Balinese Culinary Tradition

Indonesian Chef Association (ICA) Bali in its monthly meeting on Friday (November 21st) at Royal Pitamaha Resort Hotel, Kadewatan, Ubud has made a commitment to promote traditional culinaire especially Balinese. The commitment was announced by the chairman of ICA Bali Ida Bagus Made Parwata during the meeting involving hundred of ICA members and suppliers. The meeting was actually a routine agenda held by chefs working in Bali. Formed back on March 23rd 2007, ICA Bali currently has 215 members. Increasing Violation on Land Allocation in Bali

The plan to revise land zoning regulation - locally known as Perda RTRW - which so far has not concluded yet after quite a long has brought specific problem to the City Government of Denpasar. Perda RTRW on the provincial level of Bali serves as the main reference of the same regulation in a lower level of regency and city administration. Delaying completion of Perda RTRW of Bali has affected the territory allocation in general. Elaboration of the similar regulation in lower level have been delayed as well. Continue reading »

Information Booth is a Waste Without the Machine

Presence of tourist information booth in the area of Goa Lawah, Pesinggahan, Dawan has invited criticism from the people living in the surrounding area. The problem is that after one year since the the building located next to the police post, it does not work as the tourist information machine has not been in place. The most problematic is increasing frequency of motor vehicle thefts as well as burglary. Furthermore native Balinese which in the past tend to far away from criminal conducts start to change. Government to Focus on MICE and Marine Tourism

Indonesian Ministry for Culture and Tourism will continue Visit Indonesia Year program in 2009, however focus of the program will be narrowed down to specific market of MICE (meetings, incentives, convention and exhibition) and marine tourism. “Meetings are not sensitive to issues,” said the Secretary-General of the ministry Wardiyatmo on Friday (November 14th). Wardiyatmo further explained that the ministry has decided to focus on the two products - MICE and marine tourism - as the theme of Visit Indonesia Year 2009 as MICE is less sensitive to security issue. Abandoned Bali Festival Park

Continuation of the construction of recreational area Bali Festival Park on Padanggalak beach is now in question. Abandoned project intended to be the city recreational park becomes visually irritating to the beautiful beach in the area. Therefore the provincial government of Bali is asked to take over the management of the area. It is reported that there are wild animals - a species of alligator - in the area. Being abandoned for too long, those animals can become a threat to the safety of those spending their time on the beach or just passing over the area. Continue reading »

Villa Robbers Return

The robbers paid another visit to the villa owned by Australian expat Philip Doyle (52 years old) on Wilis beach. It seemed that they were not satisfied with what they have got from their first robbery at the same place as reported in earlier news post Australian Tourists Robbed in a Villa . After the first robbery on Sunday (November 10th), the same villa was robbed another time just the next day on Tuesday (November 11th). Suspected as the same persons involved in the previous action, the robbers have only taken away a small 10grams of golden jewelry. Continue reading »
